Artificial intelligence has extraordinary potential to solve complex problems across sectors, contribute to scientific breakthroughs, and improve humans’ quality of life. At the same time, this powerful technology can have the power to cause catastrophic damages if we don’t act to impose guardrails and safety mechanisms. … Congress must do everything in its power to ensure the American AI industry continues to lead, particularly outcompeting China, and also enact increased guardrails to ensure AI development is progressing in a safe and responsible manner.
